Local partners were recently invited to take a look around the Northfield Centre, to see the potential of this fantastic new community space that will be opening in the Spring. The community hub on Stone Road will be known as The Northfield Centre and will offer community facilities for everyone to enjoy. There will be a new healthy eating café, a community learning centre and a number of shops including a charity and gift shop.
Interested partners came together to see the developing facilities at first hand. There are a variety of spaces that will be available to hire for activities, events and private parties and there is already interest from a local dance school, yoga instructor, personal trainer and complementary therapists. Everyone who came to the site was very impressed.

Ian Bossons, the centre Manager, said: “It was brilliant to meet lots of people who are so enthusiastic about the centre opening. The centre will be a great asset for the local community; we’ll be working with a variety of partners such as the Citizens Advice Bureau to offer an outreach service and local councillors in the area are also hoping to use Northfield as a base for drop-in sessions. No doubt the café will be popular too, as our cakes have gone down very well today!”
We’ll publish more information about the centre closer to its opening.
