We’re thrilled to announce that Phase 1 of Northfield Village has been shortlisted for Inside Housing’s Top 60 joint-venture development of the year. 
Northfield Village is a unique development which brings together a range of accommodation, community and care facilities on one site. The project is a partnership between The Wrekin Housing Trust, Choices, Staffordshire County Council, Stafford Borough Council, the Homes and Communities Agency, NHS, Stafford Health and Wellbeing and Galliford Try, who are the main construction contractor.
Phase 1 of Northfield Village comprises of the following:
• Limewood dementia care centre - a specialised care facility with 59 en-suite bedrooms for every age and every stage of dementia, with a dementia resource hub, • A GP surgery and pharmacy, • Saltbank Court - supported housing for people with learning disabilities, • Six affordable general needs housing units and • A biomass energy centre providing the site with heating and hot water.
Steve Douglas, one of the judges, commented that Northfield is “an attractive, well-designed scheme, with clear thought given to amenity, space and landscaping, as well as the accommodation itself.”
Phase 2 of Northfield is continuing, which has added a futher 80 apartments for the over 55s in the ShireLiving extra care scheme, and community facilities including a community hub, cafe, restaurant, bar and more!
