Not only is Northfield Village unique in terms of bringing together a range of accommodation, community and care facilities on one site; but it’s also unique in its contributions to the local economy. Through The Wrekin Housing Group’s partnership with Staffordshire County Council and Galliford Try at Northfield Village, we’re dedicated to providing new, exciting developments as well as developing the local economy and helping to provide employment for local people. The Group places emphasis on employees with the right attitude and potential, both office based and trades. To date, Northfield Village has provided over 150,000 hours’ worth of work on site. Due to the varied and specialist work required, a total of 100 jobs have been and will be provided for until the completion of the project, which is estimated in approximately a years’ time. In addition, 15 new apprenticeship opportunities have been created. Once the scheme is fully operational, it will provide permanent employment for over 100 people. At the moment, 31% of the workforce is from Staffordshire, with 9% being from central Stafford, providing excellent support and generating £21 million for the local economy. A wide range of jobs will shortly be available at Limewood, the new dementia care home that is part of Northfield Village, which is due to open later this year.
